About Brinda
I’m Brintha Koneshachandra, a multidisciplinary Eelam Tamil artist and illustrator whose work explores identity, femininity, memory, nature, culture, and belonging. Rooted in my Eelam Tamil heritage and shaped by the places and stories that surround me, my visual practice brings together intricate patterns, vibrant colours, Tamil and South Asian artistic influences, and contemporary illustration. I’m particularly drawn to details, ornamentation, the natural world, and representations of femininity and the divine. My work moves between illustration, painting, poetry, and storytelling, with pieces that often sit somewhere between the personal, the cultural, and the imagined. My work has been exhibited in Canada and internationally, including L’Océan est une femme in Chicoutimi, Québec (2024), நாம் : Can the Divine Speak? at GESU in Montréal (2025), and as part of my artistic practice and participation surrounding the Kochi-Muziris Biennale in Kerala, India (2026).This Etsy shop is an extension of that practice, a space where my illustrations can leave my studio and find a place in your home.
